Two people were arrested after the Ontario County Humane Society rescued 17 animals and found four dead cats in their Canandaigua home on Tuesday.
Sheila LaFleur, 63, and Robin Burr, 61, were arrested and charged with Animal Cruelty, a misdemeanor, according to the Ontario County Humane Society.
The Ontario County Sheriff's Office assisted the Humane Society in executing a search warrant for their home on Overlook Lane in the Town of Canandaigua, following an investigation into an animal neglect complaint that was filed on Nov. 29.
This complaint, according to the humane society, was filed by an Ohio Animal Rescue citing concerns about unsanitary conditions and lack of medical care for animals at the home after the rescue retrieved two dogs that were being fostered in the home.
