SEBRING, Ohio - Sebring McKinley Junior and Senior High School students joined forces in November to launch an expansive food and care item drive.
The Student Senate groups in the junior and senior high schools partnered to expand support to families in need throughout the district during the holiday season.
These efforts bled into other student organizations too, like the Ecology Club and Success and Wellness Group, who raised $1,000 through their "Trick or Treat for Turkeys" campaign to allow for each care package to contain turkey or ham.
After the drive, the students organized, packaged and labeled the items for distribution. All of these items stayed in the local community.
