Kevin Coe — the notorious “South Hill rapist” who was suspected of raping dozens of teen girls and women on Spokane’s South Hill area from 1977 to 1981 — died Wednesday morning, likely from natural causes, according to Federal Way police.

Officers responded at 5:25 a.m. to a reported medical emergency at an adult family home near 39th Avenue Southwest and 38th Place Southwest. By the time officers arrived, South King Fire personnel were performing CPR on Coe, who died there, said Federal Way Police Department spokesperson Commander Kyle Buchanan.
