Michael Misa figures to play his next hockey game in the AHL.
Soon, we’ll find out whether the second-overall pick in this year’s NHL Draft will be made available to Canada for the world junior hockey championship.
The San Jose Sharks announced Wednesday they are placing Misa on long-term injured reserve and sending him to their San Jose AHL affiliate for a conditioning loan, which can last a maximum of 14 days.
Misa, who has been sidelined with a lower-body injury, is not eligible to play full-time in the AHL, but can go to the league for a conditioning loan. He hasn’t played with the Sharks since Nov. 1 and has one goal and two assists in seven NHL games.
