Jewelry designer Maggi Simpkins is sentimental, she tells The Cut over a call. Simpkins works with fine materials to create custom and often viral pieces. (Her ring for Sotheby’s cost $1 million after all.) She tries not to think of her everyday jewelry as something so precious. “I think jewelry should be loved and lived in,” she shares.
Though she isn’t the biggest shopper, she’s created hacks that make the process easier. “I used to wait until the last minute, but now I’ll buy a bunch of different dresses, try them on at home, and then from there I’ll find options to save.” However, she mostly shops vintage in Los Angeles. And when it comes to jewelry? She makes that herself.
See where Simpkins got the pieces that made their way into her curated closet and home.
