ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — An Anderson County grand jury has indicted two 28-year-olds in connection with the death of their infant child.
On Tuesday, Anderson County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Payton Bridges and James Cain at their home. They're both charged with reckless homicide, aggravated child abuse (under 8 years of age) and aggravated child neglect (under 8 years of age), according to ACSO.
The infant died in the Dutch Valley area in July 2024, prompting what the sheriff's office called an "extensive" investigation. Investigators gathered evidence that led the grand jury to issue the indictments, ACSO said.
Bridges and Cain remain in custody at the Anderson County Jail, according to the sheriff's department.
