MATTITUCK, NY — A Mega Millions ticket worth $3 million was sold at a small shop on the North Fork, turning an ordinary Long Island stop into the site of a multimillion-dollar windfall for one lucky player.
The New York Lottery confirmed that a second-prize-winning ticket from the November 11 Mega Millions drawing was sold at NOFO Beer and Smoke, located at 55 Middle Road in Mattituck. The ticket matched all five main numbers but missed the Mega Ball, qualifying for the $1 million second-tier prize. Because the ticket included the optional Megaplier add-on, the prize was tripled to $3 million.
