ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A man who allegedly skipped out on his rape and kidnapping trial in DeKalb County has been arrested again, according to the sheriff’s office.
Bryan Byers, a 46-year-old from Stone Mountain, left the courthouse right before his trial was scheduled to begin on Monday, deputies said. He was found on Tuesday outside a library on Redan Road.
Byers was taken to DeKalb County Jail, where he is being held without bond. He now faces an additional charge of failure to appear for a jury trial.
Byers’ original charges stem from an incident in July 2017.
