The North Bay Battalion are going big and going home this Thursday.

The Battalion have decided to give 7-foot-one-inch defenceman Alexander Karmanov his chance to play.

North Bay signed Karmanov after he was let go by the Brantford Bulldogs. That came after the Ontario Hockey League’s top club traded for a third import player to max out the number they can carry.

Last week, head coach Ryan Oulahen told the media that it may be a while before Karmanov joined the starting lineup. A while turned into a week. What happened to change that belief?
