Next year’s roster build is underway for Virginia’s football team, even as excitement continues to grow for this year’s senior-laden squad.

The Cavaliers, slotted 17th in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings and 16th in the Associated Press poll, face Duke in Saturday’s ACC championship game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

Before that showdown — one of the biggest in school history — UVA welcomed its first wave of 2026 recruits on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period. The program signed 14 high school players, including seven from the Commonwealth of Virginia.

“I’d like to be in this situation every year where we’re handling signing day and prepping for a game,” Cavaliers coach Tony Elliott said.
