An officer who shot a man who was allegedly attacking police with a knife during a police chase in Charlestown, New Hampshire, last month has been publicly identified as the investigation into the case continues.

The officer involved was identified Wednesday as Charlestown Police Officer Jacob Sands, who has six years of law enforcement experience, according to the office of New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella.

The incident on Nov. 14 began unfolding around 8:30 p.m. when a Charlestown police officer attempted to pull over a speeding vehicle that was not displaying a license plate as it was traveling on Claremont Road, according to the office of New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella.
