A former chemist for Bristol-Myers Squibb who is serving a life sentence for murdering her husband has filed a motion in federal court to have her conviction overturned, claiming a key witness fabricated testimony.

Tianle Li, 55, is serving life without parole at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women after being convicted in the Jan. 26, 2011, death of Xiaoye Wang.

Prosecutors said Li fed Wang thallium, a tasteless, odorless poison, which she obtained through her job at the Princeton-based pharmaceutical company.

The two were divorcing at the time Wang died at age 39.

The couple, who resided in Monroe Township in Middlesex County, were allegedly fighting over custody of their son, who was then a toddler.
