High-achieving high school and college students wanting to teach in Indiana can now apply for a state scholarship that awards recipients up to $40,000.

Feb. 28 is the deadline to apply for the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship, which is entering its 10th year, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education said this week.

The program strives to strengthen the teacher pipeline by providing students up to $10,000 annually for four years with the expectation that they teach for five years at an eligible Indiana school or repay the corresponding, prorated amount of the scholarship.
