CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A home explosion in the Glenmore neighborhood back in August, which officials believe was caused by a lightning strike, is prompting many Central Virginia homeowners to ask new questions about the safety of their gas systems.
Investigators have not issued a final report on the incident, and no official cause has been determined. But the event has renewed attention on a commonly overlooked issue involving CSST, a flexible yellow-coated gas line used in many homes built between the early 2000s and the 2020s.
