On Wednesday at 1:09 p.m. a special weather statement was issued by the National Weather Service until Thursday at 8 a.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie as well as Crawford County.
"Lake effect snow of 1 to 3 inches is expected across the primary snowbelt with the highest amounts in northeastern Erie County. Wind gusts up to 30 mph and can produce blowing and drifting snow primarily near the lakeshore. While snow accumulation with be minor, the majority of snow will fall in a quick, but heavy burst. This will reduce visibility during the Thursday morning commute creating hazardous conditions," states the weather service.
