OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Three police officers were hurt after gunfire was exchanged inside a South Omaha gas station Wednesday afternoon.
In an update from the scene just after 3:30 p.m., Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said the man who died at the scene was a suspect in a shooting at a Phil’s Foodway near 30th Street and Ames Avenue. At that scene, the chief said, a white man in his 50s was shot in the chest several times by a Hispanic man in his late 20s at about noon Wednesday.
Two officers were shot and a third officer was hit by shrapnel, Schmaderer said standing alongside Mayor John Ewing Jr.
