ALBANY — New York health officials are continuing to stress the importance of the hepatitis B vaccine at birth ahead of a Thursday meeting by a federal committee set to possibly vote to change when it is administered to children.
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices will meet Dec. 4 to discuss “vaccine safety, the childhood and adolescent immunization schedule and hepatitis B vaccines.” The panel may also vote to change longstanding recommendations around when the hepatitis B vaccine is administered, according to a notice posted in the federal register.
