BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The local chapter of the Ivy Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, donated $20,000 to two organizations to help families during the holiday season.
The foundation presented $10,000 checks to both the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and Catholic Charities during a ceremony today.
“These organizations touch everyone,” said Ivy Foundation President Bridgette B. Coleman. “The programs that are implemented in both of these organizations have been around long-standing programs for generations. And so what better way to bring in what we do with community partners that are already doing the work in Baton Rouge.”

The funds come from the Ambassador Circle of Giving, a fundraising program launched about a year
