REGIS Le Bris said pride was the overriding emotion in the Sunderland dressing room after Wednesday night's 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

The Black Cats were excellent at Anfield and good value for their point, but it could so easily have been three.

Chemsdine Talbi put Sunderland in front at the midway stage of the second half and the Black Cats came within nine minutes of victory, only for Florian Wirtz to level when his shot deflected in off the unfortunate Nordi Mukiele.

But Sunderland still nearly snatched all three points when Wilson Isidor raced away one-on-one deep in stoppage time and rounded Alisson, but was denied by the covering Federico Chiesa on the line.
