It’s business as usual again at Critteraid Animal Sanctuary after an avian flu outbreak that wreaked havoc on the non-profit.
The sanctuary made the announcement via Facebook over the weekend, and was happy to report their two peacocks, Jake and Nicolaj, survived the outbreak.
The post details the long and emotionally draining process, that proved to be effective in the end. Critteraid credits its success on six fronts – complying with licensing requirements; quarantine orders; making a declaration of an infected place; cleansing and disinfection; oversight; and caring for the humans involved.
It was a bleak time for the sanctuary and its team.
