NEW BRITAIN, CT. (WFSB) - High school football state playoffs will kick off Wednesday night after being postponed due to Tuesday’s inclement weather.
All 48 teams across six different classes who earned spots in the quarterfinals will vie for the opportunity to be crowned state champions.
The New Britain Golden Hurricanes will kick off against Norwich Free Academy in Class LL. New Britain enters the game with an 8-1 record and holds the top seed in the Class LL playoffs.
The Golden Hurricanes are riding a six-game winning streak with wins against Maloney, Glastonbury and Southington during that stretch.
The winner advances to the Class LL state semifinals on Monday with an opportunity to reach the state championship game on Saturday, December 13th.
