Desert Hot Springs' much-anticipated new fire station is now officially operating on the east side of the city.

The city previously only had Fire Stations 36 and 37, with the latter having been among the busiest in Riverside County. Desert Hot Springs started construction on the new Station 98 , located at 69-111 Hacienda Avenue, in 2024 in order to improve emergency response services in the city's eastern region and balance emergency call distributions.
