The next big system with rain and maybe snow in some areas arrives Thursday night

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Partly to mostly cloudy with lows dropping into the upper 20s to low 30s overnight. Winds will be light.

THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s. Winds will be north at 5-10 mph.

RAIN/WINTRY MIX/SNOW THURSDAY NIGHT: A cold rain will move into Knoxville and the Valley between 7 and 11 PM, but it may start as snow or a wintry mix north of I-40 on the Cumberland Plateau into southeast KY. Some accumulation in those areas is possible, but the placement of the rain/snow line is still in question. We will post updates as we get a better handle on which areas snow will fall or accumulate.
