PITTSBURGH —
Pennsylvania is now accepting applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) after a delay caused by the federal government shutdown , allowing residents to seek help with their energy bills as temperatures drop.
Brandon Cwalina, press secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, said, "We were not able to process funding for applications because of the federal government shutdown, but if we received an application were able to check on the eligibility for that and have it ready to go once we were able to, so as of today, we are working on those."
