ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Forest Park is undergoing major work as crews repair storm damage, replant trees and renovate the Steinberg Ice Rink.
For many families, Forest Park is a regular destination.
“Forest Park really feels like our park,” said Pascal, a young sledder spending a snow day on Art Hill.
Forest Park Forever, the nonprofit that works with the City of St. Louis to maintain and improve the park, is leading several projects. One of the largest is the overhaul of Steinberg Rink, which is closed for the current skating season.
The existing building is being gutted and rebuilt. Plans include keeping the structure, adding a second story and rooftop terrace, and creating a space that can be used year-round for ice skating in winter and activities like roller skating and c
