SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV) -The holidays bring increased demand to food pantries across the area, with Sunshine Place in Sun Prairie experiencing steady growth in clients seeking assistance.
Mark Thompson, a volunteer for more than 30 years, said the pantry has seen consistent increases year after year. Sunshine Place expected a continued increase in clients for 2025, and that expectation proved accurate.
“We want to make sure that people are provided that - that’s not really a need that’s a right,” Thompson said, explaining that food is a right for all people.
The pantry served 1,000 families for Thanksgiving, by distributing more than 7 tons of food through Thanksgiving baskets.
