Two men are facing federal drug charges after investigators seized a combined 1,585 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in blackberry shipments at locations in southeast Atlanta and Gainesville, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia says.

Gerardo Solorio-Alvarado, an illegal alien from Mexico with a prior federal drug and gun conviction, and Nelson Enrique Sorto were arrested following coordinated surveillance and searches on November 20, 2025, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
