A Multnomah County Sheriff’s deputy on Tuesday fired a Taser at a man who is accused of rushing at officers while they were trying to arrest him. Afterward, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said, 28-year-old Mackenzie Parrish-Civil bit a deputy on the hand twice.
Parrish-Civil is facing a felony charge of assaulting a police officer and several misdemeanor allegations including resisting arrest, menacing and disorderly conduct.
Sheriff’s deputies found Parrish-Civil on private property in the 200 block of Southwest Cherry Park Road in Troutdale on Tuesday afternoon when responding to calls about an unwanted person, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
