ALLEN PARISH, La. (KPLC) - A dog missing since 2023 has finally been reunited with its original owner. The path to solve the mystery stretched from Calcasieu Parish to Texas and through two clinics in Louisiana.

The dog owner, Gharrielle King, said that she began to lose hope as time passed.

“Six months went by, and we still haven’t heard anything. A year went by, and we still haven’t heard anything. I thought that he had died because he had never been missing that long before,” King said.

The dog disappeared in November 2023 while King was living in Sulphur.

“He was outside playing with the kids. We looked all over for Bentley. He wasn’t able to be found. We asked the front office, had the kids knock on the door, we posted him on Facebook, and nobody could find him,” King said.
