A New York City man has been charged in an identity theft scheme in which he bought over $65,000 worth of liquor from Pennsylvania stores.
Eugene Antwi, a 26-year-old Brooklyn resident, was arrested in New York earlier this week on a Pennsylvania warrant, according Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday and state police.
Antwi is charged with identity theft, access device fraud, theft by deception, forgery, criminal use of a communication facility and unlawful use of a computer.
An investigation determined that from August 2023 to September 2024 Antwi used false names and stolen credit and debit cards to place more than 200 online orders totaling over $65,000, officials said.
He picked up his orders at stores in 21 Pennsylvania counties.
