Phil Mickelson entered the center of Tuesday’s escalating immigration controversy involving President Donald Trump and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.
In a blistering post on Wednesday, the golf icon compared harsh foreign penalties for illegal entry to what he deemed “lenient” ones in the U.S. His post came hours after Trump inflamed tensions by calling Somali immigrants “garbage” and asserting that they “contribute nothing.”
Mickelson commented on a social media post in which Frey publicly rebuked Trump in Somali and English.
