WASHINGTON — A Prince William County man is facing manslaughter charges in connection with a fatal crash in Herndon back in November.
Jose Lopez Martinez, 23, of Nokesville, was traveling westbound on Worldgate Drive when he failed to yield the right-of-way and ran into a Fairfax County ambulance. The ambulance was responding to a call when the accident happened.
The passenger inside the car, Irvin Escobar Lujuan, 35, of Sterling, was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two firefighters were also taken to area hospitals for evaluation with minor injuries.
The involuntary manslaughter charge was added to Martinez's second DUI charge in five years.
He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
