Despite the success of Wicked and Wicked: For Good at Universal and his first-look deal with Warner Bros., Jon M. Chu has signed a new deal with Paramount. Chu directed both parts of the Broadway musical adaptation, which have proven to be a massive box office success. The first movie grossed $759 million worldwide, while For Good has made $401 million in its first two weeks.

According to Matt Belloni, Paramount has now signed Chu to a significant movie and TV first-look deal. Universal was also interested but was unable to sign Chu. This new deal takes over the existing one that the filmmaker had with Warner Bros. Check out Belloni's post below:
