CLEVELAND, Ohio — Rum Runners and Inferno have both permanently closed, quieting down a once lively-corner in the Flats East Bank district.
The neighboring restaurants on Old River Road, overlooking the Cuyahoga River, announced the news on social media on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
“The decision was carefully made after evaluation of our operations and the economic pressures currently affecting the hospitality and nightlife industry,” the press release reads.
“While we explored multiple options, continuing under current market conditions has proven unsustainable.”
Inferno first opened in 2017 as one of chef Dante Boccuzzi’s concepts. Over time and under new ownership, the space evolved to become more of a club atmosphere with DJs, bottle service and a late-night pizza window.
