Caroline Kennedy lived a public childhood.

The author was born on Nov. 27, 1957, to John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie , four years before her family moved into the White House. After the tragic loss of their father, Caroline, along with her late younger brother John F. Kennedy Jr. , grew up in the public eye with their family's continued presence in politics.

She married designer and artist Edwin Schlossberg in 1986, and the couple shares three children : Rose, John Bouvier "Jack" and Tatiana .
