FARGO — After two uneventful winters, cross-country skiers in the Fargo-Moorhead region are hoping to get more use out of the trails.
The Fargo Park District is already preparing the trails, packing down snow as the base of what will hopefully be pristine Nordic skiing tracks.
“If you wanted to take your, you know, maybe not-so-nice cross-country skis out, you could go use the trails right now,” said Alec Miller, natural resource supervisor with Fargo Parks.
For many, skis have been collecting dust for the better part of two years.
“Last couple of winters have not been great for skiing, not a lot of snow, and when we do get it, it's really inconsistent. I know last year we tried to set up our first-ever candlelight ski event, and it was really cold and it was really icy,” Miller said.
