People facing evictions do theoretically benefit from access to free legal counsel, but New Mexico doesn't have enough attorneys to serve all those who need them — "a wicked problem," said New Mexico Black Leadership Council Executive Director Cathryn McGill, who on Wednesday moderated a listening session hosted by New Mexico Legal Aid. By the end of the two-hour discussion, the group had developed a four-tiered framework for preventatively tackling the issue.
