A colossal fish has been caught on camera lurking just below the water's surface in a Greater Manchester canal - and it's so massive that locals initially mistook it for a piece of driftwood. The gigantic carp is thought to measure over two feet in length and tip the scales at more than 30lb. Branded an absolute 'unit', the behemoth was filmed gliding effortlessly between the moored narrowboats.
This aquatic giant puts ordinary carp to shame, as they typically weigh just 10 to 20lb. Sarah Mather was the lucky spotter who witnessed the mammoth creature cruising
