The Prime Minister Keir Starmer is visiting Glasgow today to highlight measures announced by the Chancellor last week in the Budget.

Keir Starmer will meet with anti-poverty campaigners to discuss his government’s plans to tackle child poverty.

Starmer will meet families after the announcement of the scrapping of the two-child benefit cap on Universal Credit and Tax Credits claims from April.

It is expected the move will benefit almost 100,000 children in more than 25,000 low-income families in Scotland.

Speaking ahead of his visit, Starmer said: “My government has always placed Scotland at the heart of every decision it makes.

“That is what I promised and that is what I am delivering, because Scots are in my mind’s eye every single time.
