The M2 is blocked following a crash involving four cars.

Traffic is queuing on the London-bound carriageway between Junction 4 for Hoath Way, Gillingham and Junction 5 for the Stockbury Roundabout near Sittingbourne .

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service confirmed it was called at around 9.05am.

She added: “Multiple crews attended the scene and assessed and treated one patient before taking them to Medway Maritime Hospital for further medical treatment.”

As a result, there are long delays in the area, and people are being advised to plan ahead.

Junction 5 has been closed, with traffic diverted off the M2 towards the M20.

At 10.15am, National Highways posted an update on X.

It said: “The cars are just being moved and the debris is being cleared from the road.
