Plans for a new Center Parcs just 60 miles from Newcastle are expected to be given the green light. The new site, near Hawick in the Scottish Borders, will be around 60 miles north-west of Newcastle and 55 miles south of Edinburgh.
The proposed site will feature around 700 lodges set within a newly forested landscape . A planning application was lodged in the summer and now the proposals are due to go before the Scottish Border Council's planning committee for approval on Monday, December 8.
The application has been recommended for approval by planning bosses - despite the application receiving a number of objections.
