Maggie Foxx wrote the quote on everything when she was growing up. It’s still somewhere in her bedroom back home in Bedford.

The quote was from Beth Greenwood’s autobiography, which Greenwood wrote as a senior project while attending Souhegan High School.

“I can’t remember what it was but something about how nothing is impossible and you just kind of have to put your mind to it,” Foxx, of Bedford, said after her Brown University softball practice on Tuesday.

Foxx and Greenwood, who is from Amherst, always believed that the formation of a new professional women’s baseball league was a matter of time — and trained accordingly.

That time has come.

Both catchers will be part of the inaugural Women’s Pro Baseball League (WPBL) season, which is scheduled to begin in August.
