In the middle of the night, the Los Angeles Clippers released veteran point guard Chris Paul.
This news came across as a bit of a surprise, as the 40-year-old guard announced that this would be his last season in the NBA just a few weeks ago.
But that farewell tour was cut short as the Clippers blindsided him with the news that he had been released. Now, ESPN’s Shams Charania is reporting that the Clippers weren’t gelling with Paul’s aggressive leadership style and that he wasn’t on speaking terms with head coach Tyronn Lue.
While Paul might not realize it, the Clippers actually did him a massive favor.
