Good morning, baseball fans!
Earlier this week, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reported that infielder Casey Schmitt had undergone surgery on his left wrist on Tuesday. Schmitt is right-handed, which means that the surgery was on his glove hand, which should help recovery go more smoothly.
Per Pavlovic’s post on social media, the surgery went well and Schmitt is expected to have approximately 8-10 weeks of rehab and recovery. However, he is not expected to miss much (if any) time during Spring Training, so I would expect him to still be in the 2026 roster conversation, assuming everything goes smoothly with his recovery.
