Drivers are being warned not to get carried away with festive cheer behind the wheel. This is because blasting Christmas music too loudly could land them with a fine of up to £100 and three penalty points.

Motoring experts have pointed out what the law says and how people could end up in trouble. Rule 148 of the Highway Code states that anything causing a distraction can be penalised.

This means singing along at the top of your lungs or turning up “All I Want For Christmas Is You” could get you in some legal trouble .
