Coronation Street stars have been told 'we're waiting' by an Emmerdale cast member as they were seen enjoying an 'away day' from the cobbles ahead of the show's historic crossover episode.

It's no secret that the residents of Weatherfield will join forces with the villagers in the Dales in an action-packed hour of drama which has been commissioned to herald the start of ITV's new soap power hour schedule.

The new schedule, set to begin in January, will see both of the show's air in half an hour instalments every weeknight on ITV , while still being available from 7am on ITVX and YouTube.

A standalone episode, Corriedale will see the two worlds collide - and one night changes everything as a multi-vehicle pile-up will be at the centre of the drama.
