Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is slated to speak at the Detroit Auto Show’s Mobility Global Forum on Jan. 14.

The auto show’s event planners said Dec. 4 that the remarks by Buttigieg, the cabinet secretary under President Joe Biden, will have an “emphasis on training and attracting the next generation in the auto and manufacturing workforce.”

The former transportation secretary and former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, who ran for president in 2020 , is currently a resident of Traverse City.
