PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata has been nominated for the NFL's most prestigious award.
He spoke exclusively to GMA Thursday morning about being named the Eagles' Walter Payton Man of the Year Nominee.
The award honors NFL players who go above and beyond by supporting the community off the field.
One player from each team is nominated.
Mailata has worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
He's also helped raise money for Philadelphia schools by lending his voice to the Philly Specials Christmas albums.
The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year will be announced at the NFL Honors Ceremony the week before the Super Bowl.
