DAYTON, Nev. —
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 hit in Nevada on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey .
The quake struck at 8:06 a.m. about 3.7 miles east of Dayton. It had a depth of nearly five miles.
The MyShake app sent out a warning about the quake.
As of 8:20 a.m., the quake was missing from USGS' website, though it was not immediately clear why. KCRA 3 has reached out USGS for comment.
