PHOENIX – A wrong-way driver was taken into custody on Loop 303 in the West Valley early Thursday, authorities said.

A wrong-way vehicle was reported in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Glendale Avenue around 2 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Troopers located the vehicle and took the driver, who authorities believe was impaired, into custody.

No other details about the case were made available.
